Also at the end of December, it was a privilege for them to attend the formal recognition of their former house-helper and dear friend Rona, as a full-fledged missionary with New Tribes Mission of the Philippines.
Rona and her fellow graduate, Carla, will be continuing to work in the Manobo tribal group in another part of the Philippines, where they have already completed a language practicum. They will continue their language study there and begin to work on a literacy programme.
Rona’s team members shared the Gospel with the Manobo people this last year and all but one family in the village turned to the Lord as their Saviour.
Dennis and Valerie are praising the Lord that He has led another family to join their team. They are new to Ga’dang but bring with them ten years of church-planting experience in another part of the Philippines. They look forward to welcoming Danny and Philippa Brooks and their two children, Isabelle and Judah as they move into the village over the next two months. They are trying to move their belongings into the village but the road conditions are very, very muddy right now. Pray for wisdom and a dry stretch of weather for them.
Dennis had an evaluation last weekend. A consultant flew in to evaluate his progress and give him pointers on how to progress in his language studies. Pray for Dennis as he continues in his studies.
Dennis and Valerie’s co-worker, Chuck, is starting into translation/lesson preparation. They have key decisions to make in the next few weeks. Please pray!
