Falling in love with Jesus

Excitement is building as more than 100 Mois look forward to hearing what Jesus did to pay for their sins.

Eight Moi Bible teachers and missionary Rich Brown are teaching evangelistic Bible lessons to a crowd of more than 100. For the past six weeks the Mois have been paying close attention to the teaching about Jesus.

It has been evident for the last week that the group is falling in love with Jesus. Many see that He is indeed God’s promised Messiah.

"They have been amazed at Jesus’ power over sickness, blindness, demons, nature and even death," wrote missionary Karen Brown. "Yesterday we taught about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead after he was in the tomb for four days. Death is all too familiar for them and they know that after four days the body starts to stink. When Jesus prayed to the Father and said, ’Lazarus, come forth!’ he came out of the tomb fully alive. We could hear them talking among themselves and one of the guys spoke up, ’How long was he in the tomb?’ Rich said, ’Four days.’ He then said, ’Wow! That is truly amazing. Thank you, God.’"

Apabo, one of the men listening to the teaching, has admitted to killing several people. In Rich’s office on Tuesday he hung his head, tears welled in his eyes, and he said, "I have much sin. I know that I’m going to go to hell because of it. When I lay down to sleep or work in my garden it’s all I can think about. What can I do to be saved?"

God is working in Apabo’s heart. Pray that he will hear the rest of the Gospel message and put his faith in Jesus Christ.

Pray also for the more than 100 Mois who will hear of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ today.
