Biblical Studies

Our Biblical Studies course is designed to establish believers in the foundational truths of the Bible. Throughout this one year course, while not able to give students a complete knowledge of the Bible or Christian living, we desire to instill in them an appreciation for the Word of God and a desire for a relationship with God that becomes the basis for the rest of their life and service.
Who can become a student?
English Language Level Requirements
All students, single and married, are required to either pass the University of Cambridge exam, First Certificate in Education (FCE), or reach a grade of 5.5 in an IELTS (General Training) exam before beginning their studies at North Cotes. If someone believes he/she is sufficiently fluent in English then an oral assessment will take place, either by phone or in person. This can result in the applicant not needing to take the exam.
Information on the FCE exam
In most countries, it is possible to take the FCE exam in December, March or June but as the results are not available for 6-8 weeks it is strongly recommended to take the exam by March. Application for the exam needs to be made at least six weeks ahead of the exam date. Exam centres in each country, and more detailed information about the exam and the exam times can be found on the following website:
http://www.cambridgeesol.org/exams/general-english/fce.html
Information on the IELTS exam
IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System. In most countries it is possible to take the IELTS (General Training) exam in any month of the year. (This is the big advantage over taking the FCE exam). Prices for taking either of the exams are similar. Exam centres in each country, and more detailed information about the exam and the exam times can be found on the following website:
http://www.ielts.org/default.aspx
We have a designated staff member who is able to give you advice on how you can prepare for either of these exams. Please Click here to contact us and select Biblical Studies from the Recipient drop down list.
