At the end of the summer, Norman had surgery and thankfully, after a period of recovery he has been given the all clear to travel again. He feel so much better.
The health of Bobby's mother continued to deteriorate during their time at home and she passed away in October. Physically she was frail but her mind was clear until her last day. She trusted Christ for her salvation as a young girl and was a Christian for some 72 years. Death is always a sad occasion but it was comforting for Norman and Bobby to see the peace she had even in her last days. She had real hope (confident expectation based on God's Word) for her eternal future in heaven with the Lord.
Over the last week or so, Norman and Bobby have been making plans to return to Southeast Asia; visas, insurance, accommodation, booking tickets, and now all is arranged for them to leave next week. They are looking forward to returning and engaging more fully in the work again. It is not without some apprehensions but they are reminded of God's Word that says, 'God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and of sound minds.' (2 Tim 1:7). Pray for safety in travel and their settling in process again.
Thank you for your encouragement and support over these past months, and for your prayers. The barriers to taking the Gospel to the unreached are not just logistical and practical but a ‘spiritual’ struggle is raging too (Ephesians 6:12). Your prayers are God’s way of working in these difficult situations and opening up avenues for the Gospel. Pray for wisdom as they interact with ongoing ministries and for the new opportunities that they are pursuing in other locations.
Pray for Norman and Bobby as they leave family again and for the family too.
Pray for the continuing work of evangelism, discipleship and church planting and the missionary teams in many different ethnic groups in Southeast Asia as God’s Word is being translated and given to the people.
