The course includes:
- A study of a highly effective approach to evangelism and church
planting. The CHRONOLOGICAL APPROACH is used by missionaries to teach
those with little or no exposure to God's Word (this approach is
applicable in every context: primitive or modern, rural, animistic,
atheistic, educated or uneducated).
- An introduction to understanding local culture through the 8 basic
universal aspects of all cultures. Students learn culture from tribal
people themselves.
- The theory you are taught in the classroom is applied with actual
tribal language helpers. An opportunity to learn, and daily employ,
techniques designed by missionaries to help an illiterate tribal person
teach you his unwritten language.
- Sessions addressing mission methods and logistics. From A to Z, the
steps to starting and completing a ministry: surveys, linguistics,
Bible translation, literacy, church-plantng, phaseout, etc. The entire
support structure is studied: mission (MK) schools, supply work,
aviation, printing, administration, computers, etc. Guest lecturers are
those missionaries performing these roles themselves.
- Daily exposure to tribal people is a reality on campus. Off campus day
trips, an overnight stay in a tribal home, and a final week in a
genuine tribal setting make INTERFACE unique.
